Fresh Purchases

Happy Wednesday to everyone. We are half way there.

You know that wishlist that I put together? Well I did a little bit of damage. I bought a few things – a couple were on the wishlist and one was not. After I put my wants and desires into the universe via my blog post, things happened and I handed over my debit card and just…yea…

First up! Sunday Riley’s Blue Moon Cleansing Balm. I gushed over this last week and had purchased it after using you sample just for two days. The instructions mention that you can even use it as a hydrating mask, which I did do and it was a great decision. This stuff has got awesome skincare goodies like cocoa butter, chamomile and vanilla to help you get ready for bed. What i like about this is that it is thick but is easy to move around on the skin and just rinses so easily. Nothing is left behind.

I’m just a little excited!!!

Next! Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation

I saw this on the Sephora website and was into right away. Then I went to the Becca section of Sephora’s website and looked at a tutorial and further explanation of the product. What drew me in was that is so glowy and you can go up a shade without it looking bad. I have been mixing Medium with my lighter colored foundations for some warmth. This lasts all day and is just so pretty. I can’t wait to use this even in the summer for nights out. I have enjoyed using this stuff with a lot of highlighter and bronzer. I just love the sun bum look.

It looks a little dark but is so perfect! Sheers right out

It was a good skincare day for me when I used this foundation. In love.

YSL Touche Eclat Neutralizers in Green

Neutralizers have come on the scene lately as a step to help cancel out imperfections on our faces. For me – my issue is redness in the winter time. My cheeks, chin and nose seem to get quite flushed. I bought this on a whim and so far am enjoying it. What I like is that it doesn’t cancel everything out…it just helps dial it down. I think for someone who doesn’t like foundation or even BB cream you could use this with some moisturizer and keep it light and natural. I probably would not have been as interested in this product if I wasn’t an avid Touche Eclat fan. I love my little wonder pen. I go between 2.5 and 3 which are so peachy and great for the under eye. I would love to get one of these for my gym bag! They blend like a dream and are just so good for on the go.

Very green and very intimidating but was just so light and made everything look much more even.

My skin nice and evened out after I used the green pen. This is before foundation and after primer.

So there you go! Hopefully some of you have either tried these products or are looking into trying them. I normally don’t purchase things that are overly trendy because I like for things to die down and let the cream rise to the top but I must say these are all three awesome purchases.

Thanks for reading!

Replenishing the Stash!

Hello everyone!

I know that I usually feature my “Monday Blues” on Mondays and yesterday I did not post. I was in the MOST foul mood in a long time. I had driven back up to Boston from RI yesterday AM. If I go home I usually drive back on Sunday but I figured with MLK being yesterday that I would not hit as much traffic and I could have some more time with my family. I WAS EXHAUSTED and stressed out. I actually wrote a Mondays Blues post and then deleted it because it was just SO negative. I was just all around miserable! So – my apologies and I am glad to be back!

I have made a few purchases this past weekend in order to replenish my stash. Let’s get talking…

FullSizeRender (8)

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum

I first bought this on a trip to NYC about two years ago. It was such an experience. I bought it at Caudalie in SoHo and it was just such a beautiful venue and our associate was so much fun. Since then I have bought this a few times. Since I just ran out of my large sample of Sunday Riley’s Good Genes I thought I would buy this again for a couple of reasons…. 1) It is less expensive than Good Genes and 2) It is a little more hydrating. Don’t get me wrong I am slightly obsessed with Good Genes however my skin is SO dehydrated from the cold so I thought Caudalie was a better choice for right now. This serums is just beautiful. Light weight, smells amazing and reveals better skin. The dropper is great and there is quite a lot in there.

Lierac Huile Sensorielle

I just talked about this product in my Winter Skin Saviors post. I had to pick up another one since it is my go to body oil. I repurchased this with some decent CVS coupons…It was originally $40 and I think I scored it for somewhere around $25.

Dr. Hauschka Clarifying Day Oil

I remember buying this around this time last year. What I love about this oil is that it is for day time. I am not someone who really needs balancing, but it is nice to have a product that is mindful keeping things even keel kind of a stretch. This is great for to keep  things hydrated before makeup application. It sinks in rather quickly and is not overly greasy or thick. It smells so wonderful. I sometimes mix this in with my Becca Backlight primer and foundation for quick glowy skin.

Current Winter Skin Saviors

Happy Friday to all of you! I hope you all are staying warm and have some cozy plans like watching Making a Murderer he deff did it and cuddling up with your animals or your loved ones.  The passed couple of weeks the weather has really become quite bone chilling in the Northeast – especially in Boston. One minute you are walking down the street and just feel cold, but then the next minute you duck through a few large buildings where you don’t feel the sun and then its friggen freezing! I have been trying to take good care of  my skin (like I always do), but despite some decent efforts to amp up the hydration, I have been striking out… The passed couple of days I have had to go into overdrive with keeping my skin plump and resistant to the cold. I have had to start curtailing my hyper pigmentation serums and cleansers in order to add in more hydrating layers. I have rounded up a handful of items that I have been calling on to help me out! If anyone has ANY further suggestions – I WELCOME THEM WITH OPEN ARMS.

FullSizeRender (6)

Lierac – Huile Sensorielle

I know I frequently talk about how happy I am that La Roche Posay, Vichy and Lierac have made their ways to CVS shelves. I picked this up when it first came into my local CVS and always have one in my stash. Its $40…and you don’t get a whole lot, however, I swear by this. It’s very comforting and smells quite herbal without a big flower bouquet. There is something very comforting about this oil. I love waking up in the morning in a big comfy sweater and smelling this left over on my skin. I use it all year round. I even put it in my face and hair if I am really in for a pamper. I am almost out! I think this weekend I am going to pick up another one.

Dr. Hauschka – Eye Balm

I discovered this last winter which was the winter from hell. I started to get these little eczema patches underneath my eyes and they were so raw. I had to really try to relax when they would start to itch. The thing about the under eye area is that it is so delicate and I also have quite dark circles already so when these patches arise, it really stresses me out. ANYWAYS, I bought this balm because of how thick it is. If I use this I try to use no eye shadow and only waterproof mascara. It helps provide some hydration and soothes but also protects. It’s a yellow balm that sort of sits on top of the skin but does blend well with an equally thick concealer. The only thing is you just need to wash your brushes more frequently when blending this. Your brushes can become quite oily.

Caudalie – Moisturizing Toner

Holy Grail. So nice. So gentle. Does exactly what it says. When my skin needs that extra hit of something soft and soothing I always grab this. I remember I had a bacterial infection on my face about three years ago and this stuff was just so great. It’s not stripping whatsoever.

La Roche Posay – Toleraine Ultra

What is so fabulous about this is that it is for face and eyes. Last winter I used this in conjunction with my Dr. Hauschka. I just love this. I think I am pre-disposed to rosacea. Ever since I was a little kid my face was always BRIGHT red after being outside or working out. I blush very easily and get hives on my chest even if I feel that I am talking to somebody for too long or if I have a glass of wine on an empty stomach. It’s very weird because I get so dark in the summertime and am SO Italian so this is a very odd thing that I have tried to tackle my whole life. This cream calms everything down and  is a great base for makeup. It’s a little bit thick but sinks in quite quickly and is fragrance free. This is great for everyone – I think even oily skin.

Weleda – Skin Food

This is a pretty new purchase for me. For $8.99 how the hell was I going to walk away from this? It is very like my eye balm. Very thick, smells very woody and herbal. I put this right on the high points of my cheeks and the perimeter of my face because for some reason that is where you can see the majority of my pores? WTF? I even rub this on my elbows and cuticles before bed. It’s great for your purse and bedside table.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector – Moonstone

I have had this since I graduated college – 3 years ago. When I finish this it will be a very very sad day, but she is still going strong. This for me just helps add some life to my face. In the winter I will mix this in with my foundation and my day oil for a friggen glow. This helps bring me from drab to fab. YOU NEED LITERALLY A QUARTER OF A PUMP. NO MORE.

Of course. I put this on my feet and put on my thickest socks. I know there is the whole paraben/mineral oil/synthetic debate out there and how this shit is just all bad and blah blah blah. I get it. However, there is no product that will ever touch Vaseline. When all else fails, I go in with this. My feet are always a mess from Spin and all the walking I do living in the city…Vaseline always makes a difference. I love putting this stuff on mixed with some cream or oil after I exfoliate. Plus its scentless and just so cheap.

Skincare Faves of 2015

How can one bundle up his or her favorites into one post? There are just FAR too many. I decided to start with skincare. I am still finalizing my list of makeup favorites and man is it hard to trim things down. I honestly do feel more passionate about skincare and truly investing in your skin, but of course- makeup is just so damn fun. However, let’s get into the skincare faves. We have a lot to chat about!!! EEEEEE!! So excited to share!

Kate Somerville Clearing Mask

I bought this about a year ago in complete desperation. As some of you know from my past posts – I take Spironolactone for my cystic and hormonal acne. At the height of my self consciousness and hyper-pigmentation I bought this mask in hopes of not even clear skin, but better textured skin. I knew that clear skin was a long shot and honestly felt that I would never have smooth, pimple free skin again hence this purchase. I don’t normally buy masks like this because I believe in using my stuff from the derm with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid but I digress…I apply this only to the areas of concern – mostly forehead and chin. I only leave it on for five minutes and when I take it off – you will be amazed. THINGS CALM THE EFF DOWN. Spots seemed to be less irritated and not as large. You also do not feel like your skin is burning or becoming irritated from having something so potent on your face  – I mean unless you leave it on for like 15 minutes. I do not recommend that. I use this maybe once every two weeks or as needed depending on my skin situation and it does not dry me out too much at all. I don’t feel the need to amp up the moisturization because it is not stripping. Bonus: the packaging is so hygienic. K.S. knows what she is doing in that area.

Fresh Rose Face Mask

We all know this is a cult classic. I have had a love-hate relationship with this and I am sort of ticked off that I am almost to the bottom of my pot and feel like I finally figured out how to use it. So…the key to this is to leave it on overnight. I start with one simple layer…let it sink in…and then go in with one more before bed. This looks like a General Tao’s Chicken sauce, but mostly dries colorless however you may have the odd, brown clump on your face but I am sure you can deal. It is very gentle and feels very refreshing on the face. Because it is a hydrating mask I have a tendency to leave them on for longer and have never had an issue with blocked pores or irritation. If you are in the market for a nice tub of something – this should be your next purchase. Obviously anything with rose petals mixed in feels comforting and I highly recommend using this cold and after a hot bath. YOU’RE WELCOME.

Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser

I did a lot of research on this before I dove in to purchase it. I was not sure if it would irritate my skin and make things worse or would help. I always air on the side of caution with products that have essential oils in them, which is a shame and very annoying, however, this stuff has done a whole lot of good for me. I use this mostly at night after I do my oil cleanse. It feels very refreshing on the skin and is packed with Vitamin C (collagen boosting and radiance enhancing), green clay (vacuum for those pores), jasmine (nourishing and helps fade scars), sandalwood (soothing, cooling and astringent like) and other sources like frankincense and myrrh…jk on the myrrh…clearly I still have X-mas on the brain. I have never felt a stinging sensation when lathering and my skin feels clean without the tightness. If you are into splurging for a nice cleanser  I would take this for a spin.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

Shocker. Another mask. Sorry. Last one though. With Asian skincare being a hot topic of discussion, I was so happy to see this arrive at Target. I originally purchased a balancing lotion by the brand and then went back to purchase this. If I was on a plane – this would be my choice for hydration. It seeps right into skin and I even put it under my eyes and on my neck. It is a gel-cream that is light blue and is another mask I think works so well cold. I usually use this after I have used a radiance mask and want to pamper myself even further. The price point also makes me a happy girl.

La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Legere (comes in Riche as well)

I am starting to see a trend here with a lot my favorites. I am all about hydration. There is nothing  better than having plump skin that is soft and radiates. I have gone through a few tubes of this and I use it all year round. It is a 24 hour re-hydrating cream that really sticks it to dehydrated skin. Even though in the winter time I rely on this I really favor this in the summer. Because I use retinol and safely baske in the sun’s rays my skin can become flaky and very reactive. This does not necessarily calm things down, but plumps things back up and takes care of the dry flakes. I am so glad La Roche Posay is now available at CVS. Such great quality without the fragrance, alcohol and dent to my wallet.

Nivea Cocoa Butter Body Lotion – Dry to Very Dry Skin

I’ve tried it all – Vaseline (my 2nd choice to this), St. Ives and Eucerin. I am a drugstore, body lotion hoe. After Vaseline reformulated it’s Repairing Moisture offering (at least I think they did because it smells different and feels stickier than before) I had to find a second love. Enter in this Nivea Cocoa Butter. Now – I am not really a cocoa butter fan but this stuff smells so warmly nutty and is outrageously hydrating. It is a little bit thick, but nothing like Eucerin. To be honest with you the award winning aspect of all this is that I apply this to my bum and that crevice where your hamstring meets the bottom shelf of my bum. HOLY. SMOOTH. I am going spare you all further TMI but just trust me on this lotion’s hydrating and soothing capabilities.

This is pretty much always a favorite of mine. I mix it with my foundation for some more hydration, I have slathered it on my feet mixed with tea tree oil, I use it on my elbows, knees and other dry bits and I literally douse myself in it before a long walk into the city on the coldest of days. I also burnt the absolute shit out of my leg with a curling iron (I curl my hair a la nude) and it was pretty nasty. This comforted my skin and kept the scales at bay….this is even used in hospitals for burn victims. The smell is rose-y but not overpowering. Go get some…like right now. If you are a new mommy and have stretch marks from all of your hard work use this on them!

La Roche Posay Ultra Toleraine Ultra – Intense Soothing Care

I first started using this in conjunction with my heavy duty acne products. I was so dry and had pimples from dehydration and turned to this to help me. It is a touch greasy but was the one product that helped me out. I also turned to this again last winter… Can we just revisit the infamous 2014 winter…The worst. What sold me to purchase this again is that it is recommended for eyes as well. I would get these pink eczema patches on my eyes and this cleared everything right up. This is great for those that suffer from rosacea. I noticed that the redness around my nose subsides greatly when I use this. It is also packaged quite uniquely. There is a plastic bottle and then within the bottle is a vacuum sealed bag with the product so no air gets in. You can gauge how much you have left because the bag shrinks up with continued use. If you have sensitive, dry, rosacea, dehydrated skin you have found your match.

Sunday Riley Good Genes

This is a more recent addition to my skincare family and am so glad to have it. It is a light cream that is a miracle worker for the complexion. It smells quite lemony but really gets to work on your radiance. It helped further even out marks from pimples and makes the tops of my cheekbones glow even without highlighter. I had no expectations for this but was pleasantly surprised. I try to use this every night, but I want to make it last, not over stimulate my skin, and also insert in other radiance boosting products so if I use it every other night, I am still happy with the way my skin looks the next day.

Sunday Riley Luna Oil

I know I just wrote about this oil and Good Genes recently but it has quickly become my favorite oil (next to Bio-Oil obvi). This is just lovely. When I wake up in the morning after using this I feel like my skin is saying “Thank you”. It is an all around pleasure to have this. The pipette is great for distribution and the formula is not too thick. It has blue tansy in it which I have read up about and not only does it help damaged skin but it known for its tranquility and sweet aroma, which is probably why this formula is best for sleeping. What makes the oil blue is something called chamazulene which emerges during a distillation process and this can aid those with allergies and asthma gets up out of chair for a standing ovation. Of  course the price point is STEEP, however, a little goes a long way.

AND THERE YOU ALL HAVE IT. MY 2015 SKINCARE FAVES! I hope you all maybe learned a thing or two or even feel the same about some of my pics!!!

Thanks for reading all the way to the bottom.

The Gift Set You Should Get For Yourself

‘One for you and two for me’ is a phrase that I am trying not to act upon during this holiday season. While shopping for loved ones and friends I tend to have a habit of picking up the same gift that I am planning on purchasing for someone for the simple fact that I want one too! I get serious gift envy even though I will  be the recipient of presents as well…does this happen to anyone else? …I hope people don’t think I am selfish?

However, this holiday season Sephora has really stepped up their game with their gift sets. While having a nice look through online, I found this Sunday Riley Power Couple Kit. I thought for $78 it was such a steal. Good Genes and the Luna Oil have been on my wishlist for awhile. I received a sample of the Luna Oil about a month ago and just adore it. Besides this purchase the only other thing I have actually bought myself is a striped turtleneck from Banana that was on sale for $15. HONEST TRUTH.

Since I have only read about Good Genes and have ONLY heard fab things, I thought this Power Couple Kit would be great for me. I have used Good Genes three times and I don’t think it is a fair amount of time to judge, but my cheeks do feel more refined and soft. My acne scars seem to not have faded but like I said, its too early to tell, but so far so good.

After purchasing Riley’s Artemis Oil, I liked it but didn’t love it however, I was willing to give another one of her oils a go. Luna’s blue, light as air serum wins in my book. While Artemis’ goal was help clear up acne but be hydrating, I don’t think it helped as much as Luna has. Since Luna is a night treatment, my skin feels refreshed and brighter by the morning. The only issue with Luna is that since it has retinol properties, I have to be careful to not overdose on my actual retional prescription. I tend to use my Luna after a good face mask and pamper and then use my prescription in the morning on alternate days.

Usually these two items are $105 each. Of course the set does not include the full size bottles. You receive 0.5 oz of each product. The regular size of Luna is 1 ounce, so you receive half in the set. Good Genes’ normal volume is 4.2 ounces and I think they could have included a little bit more in the  gift set, but I am still not complaining for the price tag.

I just looked at Sephora online and it says its out of stock! I am not sure if it will be available in stores or not, however your best bet if you cannot get your mitts on it is to get samples in the store and see how they work for you! Maybe this set will give you all gift ideas for someone else or even yourself, but either way, Sunday Riley’s products are one of a kind and are awesome options for us girls that just LOVE SKINCARE.

Thanksgiving Makeup Must Haves

Holidays are the most perfect time to be a little daring and on trend with your makeup. Fall invites us try our deep red lipsticks and go for fuller coverage foundations. For me personally, I have been loving having a hydrated base with some smudgy liner and a touch of sculpting. Below are some items from my stash that I will be wearing on Thanksgiving and during this weekend. I hope you enjoy reading!

FullSizeRender (1)

Too Faced Hangover RX primer ~ Love this stuff. I randomly bought this during the summer and just picked it up off the shelf. I am so glad that I did. With the cold weather this gives me just a little bit more hydration and smoothes everything out. It is a light cream that dries pretty quickly and I love the pump and it’s great for travel.

Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer mixed with Maybelline’s Bronze BB Cream ~ I have been feeling a little pale so I have been mixing this Bronze BB Cream with my lighter colored foundations for some glow. These two together make a great pairing. I received LM’s tinted moisturizer as a 100 point gift at Sephora and I have been loving it for travel! Application is a dream and it is a great option for the gym and running errands afterwards. It has some good SPF in it and just mutes my redness around my face.

Kevin Aucoin’s Sculpting Powder  ~ YAASSS. I bought these during the Sephora VIB Rouge event and mmmhmmm I am happy with it. $44 bucks for a tiny, eye-shadow sized powder, but I lurv it. It blends seamlessly. i don’t think I can use this when I am really tan but I think for right now, it gives me some damn good cheekbones without looking dirty…ya know? It is quite pricey, but it was worth the splurge. AND again, it’s a small value but superb for travel!!!

MAC’s Kohl Eyeliner in Costa Riche ~ If you have brown eyes just do yourself the favor and pick this up. It’s like a milk, rich chocolate. The color is so unique and is just an all around awesome product to have. I sometimes use this after I apply my primer and put it all over the lid and then smoke it out with a fluffy brush…the effect? Smoldering, sexy, rock and roll. If you have hooded eyes like myself, your intrigue levels rise exponentially! FullSizeRender (2)

By Terry Color Fix Cream Eyeshadow in Frozen Quartz ~ I know that Bronze Moon and Misty Rock are the two shades that have had women from all over the world not give a what about dropping $43.50 for a freaking cream eyeshadow, however, I was privvy to Frozen Quartz. This pink is so beautiful. In certain lights it looks a little bronze-y, looks more mauve than pink…pretty much its like Sybil and has multiple personalities. For this holiday weekend, I will be applying it all over my top lids and underneath, then buffing out the edges. Then, I will go in Costa Riche to tightline and create some drama – then smoke that out and use Frozen Quartz again to further soften the Costa Riche and sort of highlight.

NYC Koreatown Haul – The Face Shop and Tony Moly

I finally have gotten around to writing my skincare haul from Koreatown in NYC. I feel as if this shopping experience was meant to happen. Our hotel was on Madison and East 31st.  and I was so fortunate that The Face Shop and Tony Moly were so close. The shops were about a street away from my hotel and little further west. On Saturday when my family and I arrived to NYC we got settled in the hotel, had some pizza (duh) and then headed straight to downtown. After we had decided to head back to the hotel and relax before dinner…I took a quick nap…ditched my mom (I had kind of figured she wasn’t going to be that interested in this little endeavor I had planned) and then headed out. I had looked online to find some hidden Asian skincare stores in NYC and Face Shop had come highly recommended. I also went to Tony Moly which was on the same street and had no idea it was even over there so I of course popped in! The stores in Koreatown are just stacked one on top of the other. You look up a building and you see all different stores on such high floors. Also, some of the smells were just amazing. LOTS of awesome sushi places and I wish I could have gone into all of them!

I will say, I was very proud of myself for discovering these gems, executing the walk over there (without getting lost) and just enjoying something that was for ME only! I think that is part of the traveling spirit I have. I sometimes want to be alone and see what I want to see instead of people being like “OH LOOK OVER THERE!! THAT LOOKS COOL”…no…I want to look up, look down, stop and window shop on my own small excursion. Maybe some of you are the same and maybe some of you are like “Damn, this girl is FREAKING CRAZY”…but it’s those little moments that you lead yourself to experience that you treasure the most.

But! Here is a pic of everything I bought.

The Face Shop Chia Seed Water ~ I squirted this on the back of my hand and it was over. It is an essence and is used after your toner as a hit of hydration. It is quite liquidy for an essence but I love the effect. The smell is natural, and quite dull but I think it is a good edition. Maybe not for every morning, but at night I think taking more time for your skincare is essential…ITS SELF CARE PEOPLE.

The Face Shop Blan Clouding White Moisture Serum ~ I needed a new hydrating serum and this one was relatively cheap, light and since I was in NYC I was all about making this purchase. I have to say – I love it. It is not greasy, does not irritate my skin and works so well under my other creams and makeup! I am so happy I found this!

The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Cream ~ The only thing that I can think of is that this reminds me of Pond’s. It’s cooling, soft and does not irritate my skin. This stuff was $8 and they had a ton of different options for these creams. I don’t think this is a holy-grail cleansing cream and it is not a good option for removing eye make-up but after a long day, getting something that is refreshing on the face feels all kinds of right.

Tony Moly Gold 24k Mask ~ Gold. Face mask. Done. I saw it. Had to have it. Put it in the basket. Wham bam thank you m’am. I used this right as soon as I returned to the hotel for a bit of radiance boosting. It is supposed to tone and give you a bright eyed effect and supposedly does have some gold in it…? I have to use this a little bit more to see if I like what it does, but for starters – no irritation.

Tony Moly Timeless Placenta Hydrogel Mask ~ I should have bought multiple of these because now I am waiting for that right time to use this…do I do it before an event…do I do it on a Friday night pamper session…AHHH!!!!!! Look at that packaging. I love hydrating masks and am always on the quest to find the perfect one. Maybe this will be it! For $6 I had to buy it.

Tony Moly Intense Care Snail Foot Mask ~ This was a shoein…teehee. My feet have been just God awful.giphy

I think that after my next pedicure that I will use this to keep my heels smooth and maybe cut down on my blisters from refilling up with fluid…I’M SORRY. BUT WHEN YOU WALK HOME DRUNK ONCE AND THEN GET BLOOD BLISTERS THEY ARE REALLY HARD TO GET RID OF WHEN YOU ARE ATHLETIC AND STILL GRAB YOUR SEXY SHOES FOR WORK. OK? Ok. Anyways! I wish I had bought two of these as well. I promise you I will report back on this one. We gotta make serious love to our feet…they support our weight and do a lot!

So there is my Asian skincare roundup when I was in NYC. I hope you all enjoyed reading this. A little humor…a little self exploration…and a whole lot of dough spent on stuff we rub on our bodies to feel good. Can I get a hell yea??!?!?!

Thanks for reading!

Replenishing the Stash

The issue with having such a love for beauty products is that when I go to Sephora or Ulta, most of the products I buy are a repurchase. Of course I take peeks at my favorite brands just to make sure I didn’t miss a new release and see if there is anything new that peeks my interest but I am at the stage now where a lot of my Sephora runs are to replenish a staple. Below are a few of them that I would like to share with you so that they can perhaps become a staple for you as well.

Oribe Dry Thickening Spray

I picked this up from Blue Mercury since Sephora or Ulta do not carry it. I prefer this over the Dry Texturizing Spray because I always use my Bumble to Bumble Pret A Powder. This product is great for volume starting at the midlength and down to the ends. It’s so lightweight but very powerful. When I use this stuff I don’t really even need to use a hairspray for hold. When I style my hair I usually shower at night and then curl my hair in the morning with my straightener, rake through the curls and then blast my length with this stuff. Or, since I have fine hair that has a little bit of texture, I will use this on 2nd and 3rdday straight hair for a beachy, effortless look. The price tag is a little steep – $39 but us girls with fine hair NEED something like this to help our mid strands out. If you have the budget or are a ‘hair’ girl (I’m a blush girl) then anything by Oribe is worth the investment because the quality and value are just incomparable.

image4 (7)

Nars Pro Prime

I don’t really need to say much here. Best eye shadow primer ever. Period. I have oily eyelids…like really oily *insert funny scene form Girls Season 1 when Hannah is at work and her coworker tells her that* All you need to do is read the reviews and that is enough to convince you. I have been using it for about two years and have gone through only three tubes of it. I will wear a look for 10 hours and I don’t think I have ever seen it crease more than three times. When I accidentally sleep with my make up on *cringe* my eye look STILL gives it.

image3 (6)

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

For ten bucks just dive right in…get one of your mom, your friend and even her friend…It’s great. Does not move. I know some people feel indifferent but this is another holy grail product that is perfectly priced and lasts quite awhile. It is a buildable lower lash mascara that dries pretty quickly. I have endured some pretty intense sweat sessions with this on and it looks just as good as when I put it on in the morning. The other awesome thing is it is still easy to remove!

Caudalie Moisturizing Toner

I love this product so much that I wrote a review about it on the Sephora website…do not judge. It is so hydrating and you need the tiniest amount. It does not strip the skin whatsoever and serves a great first layer to your serums and moisturizers. It has a subtle scent and I use this all year round. It’s very refreshing but still light. I’ve gone through bottles and bottles of this stuff and just wish they had an industrial size bottle so I didn’t have to repurchase so frequently. If you are someone that has dry or even oily skin this is a great supplement to your regimen.
