Good morning, everyone!
This is the first post after Christmas but one of the last of 2015. I always enjoy the week after Christmas. Things slow down. People take time off to be with their families and work seems to be a little less stressful. I actually feel sort of relaxed while writing this. I don’t feel the need to finish quickly so I can get moving on other pending items.
Hopefully all of you had a great holiday. I have very few photos since I spent the last week with a cold…probably a 6.5 on a 1 – 10 scale. I had minimal body aches and could sleep well, but lethargy and a sore throat just made me feel like luggage. I actually did not dress up at all for Christmas. I wore my cheetah-print pajamas all day…even when guests arrived. I just did not have it in me.
On Christmas day, my dog leapt off the couch in pursuit for a chocolate treat I was eating and dislocated his hip. My stepdad, my boyfriend and I all made a lovely trip to the vet around 8pm. HE IS OK however he did have to be put under and have his hip clicked back into place and he now has his two legs tied together to prevent him from splaying out. POOR LITTLE GUY. I was in hysterics for about five minutes and then a crazy motherly side of me kicked in and I found a 24/7 vet, rounded up the troops, grabbed my keys, and was out the door.
I am sure most of you had a healthier and quieter holiday than we did over here in RI but it was one for the books! We will always remember it as the Christmas that “Henry dislocated his hip” 🙂
Thank you everyone for reading!
Does anyone else have a small obsession with the RHONJ? I’m glad the bitch is back. I guarantee you the next season will feature Tre’s homecoming. I honestly do not think she is as stupid as everyone thinks she is. DO NOT JUDGE ME.
My boyfriend and I decided not to exchange gifts this year and instead do a nice dinner and a weekend trip. The weekend trip is in the works, but we went to dinner at La Masseria and ordered a bottle of wine. The label read sideways so you had to turn the bottle. It was quite spicy and went well with our apps and pasta dishes!
It honestly hurts to see this cutie at the vet. We were able to say goodnight but it was heartbreaking.
HEYYYYYY GUYSS!! Here we are. Another Monday. I don’t know about you all but I NEEDED that long break. I slept SO MUCH…as well as ate TOO MUCH but I am just so happy to feel finally caught up with the shut eye! I hope everyone had a great holiday. I went to my boyfriend’s mother’s family’s house for dinner on the actual holiday, then went to my bf’s dad’s house on Friday for dinner and then we went out with MY dad on Saturday. THREE HUGE FRIGGEN MEALS. I feel bad for my mom because it was my first holiday away from her but we did spend some QT together.
Due to the exorbitant amount of food I ate this weekend, I am going to try to eat clean this week and do a little detoxing with teas, fruits and veggies. I really want to shed a couple of pounds and just feel better! I know I am not the only one to feel this way.
Yesterday when I came back to my apartment in Boston, my roommate and I went on one of our little “adventures” which included a drive to Newbury street and then Harvard Yard. We went to MAC on Newbury, but only after we realized the LUSH is out of business… WAH! So after MAC we headed to Harvard Square to the LUSH! It was a cold night but was great to see the lights all strung and see some of Black Friday deals and gift sets…LUSH is awesome for gifts may I add…cheap, all natural and its all just so happy.
Here are some pics of my long weekend! Have a great week everyone!
On my way home to RI, I stopped in at Providence Place Mall. There is a KIKO in there…I was a good girl and did not enter. BUT, I will be back for sure!
I did get some good time outside. Fresh air just makes me feel so alive…I AM SO CORNY…I am well aware.
A little LUSH purchase. I had to! It is supposed to be very hydrating so I wanted to try the smallest bottle first.
I just had to. After my spin classes this stuff will feel so good on my legs. The hint of menthol is so AWESOME
This is inside the ChrisTingle…I love anything blue. I didn’t stick to my budget that I gave myself over this weekend – $50 bucks…ughh I tried!
The impressive steak and eggs breakfast that I ate the day after Thanksgiving. I slept the WHOLE way home after and pretty much licked the plate.
Me and my boo on Saturday night.
Hello everyone! We meet again, Monday. Today is one of the less painful Mondays because I finally got some good sleep this weekend. I went home for the weekend and it was so great to see my family. My mom and I went to breakfast on Saturday and cuddled later on at night (you know…adult cuddling like laying in the same bed watching a show and reading mags) and then on Sunday my brother and I went to one of our favorite spots for brunch. I also spent some really nice time with my boyfriend. We watched a new Netflix original series – Master of None with Aziz Ansari which is absolutely hilarious (and stupid) and we just caught up…I always love our conversations about what’s been going on in our lives. I sometimes feel so guilty that I live in Boston and he lives in RI but I think we both know the importance of establishing ourselves in our careers, being a little independent and unfortunately for awhile we have to be apart but I know that when we start our lives together it will be such a sweet experience.
I hope everyone has a great week!!
After breakfast my bro an I went down to our town beach – Narragansett to look at the water. It’s always SO calming. The water was still and almost this teal color and the sun was just beaming. I could have sat there all day.
The ceiling of our brunch place – Crazy Burger
My holiday mantle. I went to Marshall’s and bought a few things for to make this feel a little more festive. I want to get another one of those deep candle holders (middle). The one I bought says “Noel” but I would love the buy the ones that say “Peace and “Hope”.
My breakfast on Sunday. I ordered the Loco Burger which they put through the panini press. Inside the wrap is avocado…delish. Home made sweet potato fries and cucumbers. HEAVEN
That’s it for right now! Hope everyone has a great week!
I think that this Monday for me (so far) has been one of the least painful ones for me. I was able to really relax this weekend. Because it has been my fourth consecutive weekend going home to RI, I feel that I have spent some good quality time with my family and my bf (since he lives in RI). Much of the time when I come home from Boston, I feel the need to make everyone happy and then I feel so guilty when I can’t dedicate as much time to everyone as I’d like. The weather this weekend was bizarre…sunny one minute and the cloudy the next. Even though the weather was a little wishy-washy, I wasn’t upset about it. It was a treat to not have to rush to get to the beach or rush through my workout in order to get outside. I hope everyone had a relaxing but fun weekend. Below are some photos!
El Fuego has the best burritos. This one has french fries in it… enough said.
My stepdad grows the tastiest and cutest little tomatoes!
My brother just had go take pics of Worden’s Pond. It was so worth the 10 minute drive. I had never ever been there before!!!
Nate and I decided go kayaking at Narrow River. It was so wonderful out there. We had a rough start but got the hang of it.
These are sunflowers in my apartment. They really brighten up a room and they are still going strong.
Before kayaking, Nate and I took a nice trip to Matunuck Oyster Bar. What a meal!
No matter how fun or how boring my weekend was, I always struggle with Mondays. I never really have gotten along with them. I always feel that no matter how much preparation I did for my work week, I struggle with the start. Even though I am a morning person to the core (yes I was that psychopath in college who always chose to take 8:30am classes) I struggle with putting one foot in front of the other at the beginning of the week. In the summer time I relish long beach days with a good magazine followed by an outdoor dinner and drinks. Living in New England, we wait all year for those twelve weeks of bliss so I always feel guilty when I am inside. Perhaps this is why I have loathed Mondays more than ever! I always love going through my camera roll at the beginning of the week to relive those awesome moments but to also remind myself that the weekend is a permanent fixture in our lives and will be arriving shortly. Below I have included some snippets of my weekend!
I love my Henry. He has been limping around the house the last week or so. He took off in hot pursuit for a rabbit outside. Poor thing ❤
One of my favorite places to eat in my hometown – 210 Oyster Bar and Grille. I always considered ordering this dish, but this past weekend I just went for it! I finished the whole thing.
If anyone lives in Southie they know that planes are constantly in their line of vision. The airport is so close to us and they just line right up, one after the other. This one was not flying as low as some of them do but it was a great shot.
A view of the city from the jetty. You get the whole skyline.
It was little too much to finish in one sitting, but I did it anyways. Brie is life.
